The movement counts with yoga, dance, shiatsu, acupuncture, martial arts, meditation teachers and groups, dance schools and companies, as well as several artistic communities spreaded through Portugal and all over the world. Nevertheless every moment new beings may arrive, attracted by this good energy and creativity exchange net...everybody is welcome.
The Nomad space
The Nomad is the Bellybutton Encounters physical space, located in the small (less than 100 people...), calm and beautiful village of Coentral Grande, in Castanheira de Pêra county, in the heart of the beautiful Lousã mountain, the Centre of Portugal, at 220Km from Lisbon, the same from O'Porto, a 3 hour car drive from the main Portuguese cities.
There is also a small stone stage for live performances, with open area for an audience of more than 200.
The Workshops/rehearsals room is about 100m2, and is equipped with Tatamis (japanese mats) and gymnastic mats, with a small indoors stage and a simple sound equipment, there is also a bar, game room with snooker and other games and a video room.
For the presentation of "in work" or finished projects there is the possibility to use several places, in and out doors.
Then there is the crude and beautiful mountain, pure in it's essence; Water, Earth, Fire and Air. During the hot seasons vibrating with colours and life and in the cold season sometimes covered with a beautiful white snow layer, while the fire cracks in the stove.
Pure nature with low human impact...Coentral is located in a protected area, with century old flora, Oaks, Pines, Olive trees, among others (...Hummm...those blackberries...) and diversified fauna, Deer, Wild Boars, Foxes, Hawks and other prey birds, Rabbits and even in some remote locations the playful Otter makes it's appearance.
As this small village is the last of the Pêra valley, it has two small rivers with pure crystalline water, you are even able to put your thirst away while you swim!
For logistic support we will have ready, a small rustic stone house, with kitchen and bathroom, a room with 6 beds and own social area with stove, and another room with one big bed, allowing for 9 to sleep comfortably. More people may stay in the living room using mattresses/futons.
You may also use the camping area, with 1000m2, besides the house, here you can place your tent comfortably under the shadow of a tree, hot and cold water is also available outside. |

The options:
The contribution for the Nomad space is 80€/day, for any number of persons, including full use of the house and closed camping area. The use of the Workshop/Rehearsal atelier is to be acorded in each case with CIRUC, a local organization.
Food, bed linen, towels and tents are not included and you will have to be bring your own. Nevertheless you may use the house blankets.
For the time being only the house will be heated, therefore the atelier is quite cold in winter time but very pleasant during warm weather. We hope to have an heating system installed soon.
All these choices may be altered any time, please check the site often.
We want to maintain a flexible attitude, therefore it is possible to create different options for each case, for longer duration or regular residences.
We are open to all the beings interested in share this impulse with us and open their own doors and "magical" places, to everybody...
